- Doom95 INSTALLATION AND QUICKSTART INSTRUCTIONS
-
- 1) Make a directory on your Hard Drive for Doom95.
- (ie c:\md doom95)
-
- 2) Using "pkunzip -d" unzip the file Doom95.zip into its directory.
- (ie c:\doom95\pkunzip -d doom95.zip)
-
- 3) This will create 2 subdirectories Doom95 and Redist will all of the
- proper files in them.
-
- 4) If you don't have DirectX installed you must do that before running
- Doom95. To install DirectX change to the Redist/DirectX directory
- and run the file Dxsetup.exe.
- (ie c:\doom95\cd redist
- c:\doom95\redist\cd directx
- c:\doom95\redist\directx\dxsetup.exe)
-
- 5) After installing DirectX you are ready to play Doom95.
-
- 6) Change to the Doom95 executable directory and run the file Doom95.exe.
- (ie c:\doom95\redist\directx\cd c:\doom95
- c:\doom95\cd doom95
- c:\doom95\doom95\doom95.exe)
-
- 7) You will now be playing Doom95.
-
- 8) Doom95 will accept all of the same flags that the original Doom/Doom2
- will accept. If you wish to pass the flags to Doom95 you must run the
- executable from either a MS-DOS window or use the Windows Run command.
- (ie to add a .WAD you would type c:\doom95\doom95\doom95 -file MY.WAD)
-
- 9) Doom95 will also accept all of the Doom/Doom2 cheat codes. They can be
- entered at any time during the game.
-
- 10) If you have any trouble installing Doom95 you can mail
- pavlada@www.iit.edu with the subject DOOM95 HELP for help. Support
- is *NOT* guaranteed but all email questions will be answered as soon
- as humanly possible. Alternatively you may wish to check the
- Doom95 FAQ on the Doom95 Homepage at http://www.iit.edu/~pavlada/doom95.
- It may contain the answer to the problem that you're having.
